An extremely well made product - solid stainless steel frame, and Italian aniline leather. Many other Barcelona chair replicas are priced far higher, and have a hollow frame and imitation leather (plastic) cushions. This chair is superb in every way. Highly recommended - the service was excellent - will buy again from this company. I'm impressed, and I spent a long time looking at all the other alternatives on the UK market - none even comes close, apart from Knoll, but you'll have to pay 2 grand or thereabouts for one of their chairs |

Bought the Barcelona chair from Modborn and it's lovely- extremely well made and in addition, it is covered with Italian aniline leather - many such chairs on the UK market are much more expensive, and are covered with imitation (faux) leather. An excellent product no reservations. Modborn dealt with my purchase quickly and efficiently and kept me informed. i will buy from them again, no reservations at all. |

I have to say that the service from Modborn has been excellent. Despite a slight issue with the chair, the attempts made by the customer service team to rectify this was very good.
They have reconciled the problem and gone out of their way to fix the issue with the least upheavle for me.

I've always dreamt about owning an Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, so when I learnt you could get replicas I did some research online and found ModBorn offered one of the best prices and had good reviews but I was a little apprehensive as I've never bought anything big online except from Amazon. However, the whole experience was great. Delivery was the very next day and I had a very tight schedule but they did their best to make sure the delivery driver came at the right time. He replied to all my emails quickly and he was very helpful. The product itself is high quality and feels like the real thing. It was mostly assembled but the arms needed to be put on which was quite fiddly and I needed a hand from a friend but it was no big deal. Highly recommended. |

as it was easter.
they told me he was very sorry but it would be tuesday for delivery.
then on Friday morning he emailed me early to say the tables would be here today.
the tables arrived as the email came in.

I've been looking for an affordable, good quality, Eames Lounger for some time, and, in my opinion, Modborn's offering is one of the best available. I purchased the brown leather/cherry wood veneer version. The plywood shells are satisfyingly substantial and beautifully veneered. The aniline leather is plush, strong and blemish free, and all the fittings solid and well made. The chair arrived just two days after I placed my order... I have no complaints..! |

It's quite a tall order to find a good quality Eames chair. The main pitfalls are build standard and whether it's leather or not. Some claim to be "soft compound leather", for example, which turns out not be leather at all. So after a lot of research it really only came down to Modborn.
I had some questions (see above) and their pre-sales over the phone was amazing - genuinely helpful, kind and patient. Despatch was for the next working day and they use the fantastic DPD for their deliveries - the best-organised of all delivery companies I've experienced (this becomes important when you miss their first delivery attempt!) The chair itself is everything it's cracked up to be - no build or quality qualms whatsoever - and with beautiful (genuine) leather. I put it together in five minutes but then noticed there was't a user-guide for a couple of the controls.
I called up, received big apologies that it hadn't been included and within ten minutes a pdf was in my inbox. At the same time, I asked about a second chair and was immediately offered a discount.
So. all in all, an exemplary company to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. |
