Eames-Style DAW Arm Dining Chair – Black
Iconic Design • Premium Quality • Modern Style
This piece draws on the mid-century modern design tradition — styled in that spirit, and unaffiliated with the founding design house.
The DAW: the Eames shell chair with arms and wooden legs
The DAW (Dining Armchair Wood) occupies a particular position in the Eames-style shell chair family. Where the DAR and DAX use metal bases, the DAW rests on four solid beechwood splayed legs — a detail that softens the industrial character of the shell and makes the chair read as warmer and more at home in residential dining spaces.
The black polypropylene seat shell curves slightly at the back to support the spine, and the generously scaled seat pan provides comfortable support for extended use. The armrests — low and wide — are formed as part of the shell rather than added on, keeping the outline clean.
